My name is Riya Luthra (REE-yuh LOO-thruh). I am an actress, singer, dancer, comedienne, and former Gifted and Talented kid from Dallas, Texas! I’ve been acting, singing, and dancing since I was young, and I always knew I wanted to continue pursuing those passions into adulthood. Unfortunately, I was born with my father’s terrible sense of humor and attention-seeking tendencies (love you, Dad!), hence comedienne. As for Gifted and Talented, that’s just how my mama made me.

I recently earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting at the University of Arizona, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Honors (boom, baby). Outside of my rigorous pursuit of knowledge, I love cooking and baking (check out my Instagram for proof ;P), doing Pilates or Zumba, and traveling. I’ve been to many countries and had many experiences thus far in my life, but I’m always hungry to continue exploring what the world has to offer.

I was practically destined to be a creative; my name literally means ‘singer’ in Sanskrit. I love all things artistic in nature: dancing, singing, playing instruments, painting, and more. I thrive when faced with a challenge, and I hope to tackle complex and nuanced roles in my acting career. At the end of the day, all I want to do is make folks happy. Cliché? Totally. True? Absolutely. Whether by making people laugh or telling a story that impacts them, the goal of my life is to spread positivity and happiness.
